Breaking: Olubadan Of Ibadanland, Is Dead; His Successor

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has passed on. The traditional ruler joined his ancestors in the wee hour of Monday, family sources said.

His demise comes barely 48 hours after he celebrated his 90^th birthday. The development also comes a year after he became the traditional ruler of the ancient city.

Recall that Governor Seyi Makined of Oyo state presented the staff of Office to Oba Olakuleyin, on July 12, 2023. He succeeded Oba Lekan Balogun who died in March 2024.

Sources in the state government informed the magazine that a formal announcement will soon be made to the public on the issue.

Meanwhile, sources in the metropolitan city told this publication that a former governor of the state may succeed the demised Oba Olakuleyin.
