Serious trouble is brewing in Ogun state between supporters of the state governor Dapo Abiodun and his predecessor, Ibikunle Amosun.
Governor Abiodun has demoted 75 traditional rulers appointed by his predecessor at the tail end of his administration.
In a terse statement on Friday, the Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin to the governor said the traditional rulers have now been demoted.
The statement read in part, “The Council approved the revocation of the appointments of 75 chiefs as Coronet Obas in Legal notice number three of 2019.”
The magazine learnt that the affected obas will not take their demotion lie low, particularly on the belief that the decision of the state government was politically motivated.
Their supporters have also been spoiling for war, according to sources in the APC, as the two political battle for the soul of the state and the party.
