Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has officially been reappointed as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly in a significant political development in the history of Lagos State since the advent of democracy since 1999.
His reappointment comes on the heels of Mojisola Lasbat Meranda’s resignation, which took effect immediately, following the intervention of the Presidency, the Governor Advisory Council, GAC and stakeholders in the Lagos Political landscape.
Meranda stepped down from her position, though the reasons for her resignation is the pressure from the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Lagos State.
Her departure marks a pivotal shift in the Assembly ’s leadership dynamics.
Obasa’s return is seen as a continuation of his previous tenure during which he was recognized for his leadership and legislative initiatives.
