The Supreme Court of Nigeria Wednesday dismissed the appeal for review brought before it by the All progressives Congress on their judgement on Bayelsa State.
A seven Man panel headed by Sylvester Ngwuta had taken pleas earlier from both parties, and gone on recess, but when they reconvened, Justice Augie read the Judgement saying that the application lacks merit and that the petitioners failed to point out errors in the supreme court Judgement.
Recall that the Supreme Court had given their judgement on the Bayelsa governorship elections, sacking the governor elect David Lyon and putting in The PDP candidate, Duoye Diri. Lyon is of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The APC, however, has appealed the case.
In the ruling, the supreme Court said that their judgement is final for all times and cannot be appealed again, and that “No Court On Earth Can reverse it”.
Lyon and APC had argued through their Lawyers Chief Afe Babalola SAN and Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN respectively that the court should review and set aside the February 13 judgement which voided their participation in the November 16 governorship election.
Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Adams Oshiomhole, All Progressives Congress Chairman, and party supportes were in Court.
