Breaking: Mandela’s Widow Condemns Sanusi’s Removal

Graca Machel, the wife of late President Nelson Mandela of South Africa has deplored the removal of Muhammad Sanusi II as Emir of Kano.

Machel is the founder of Graca Machel Trust  and the Foundation for Community Development, a humanitarian organisation recognised by the United Nations, UN

In a solidarity letter to the now deposed Emir, Machel said Sanusi’s was deposed because he spoke truth to power.

The formal CBN Governor was dethroned on Monday by the state government and later banished to Nasarawa state.

The widow of the late African leader said the root of Sanusi’s current predicament may not be unconnected with his boldness to challenge the status quo.

Machel has joined other prominent African leaders such as Atedo Peterside who have condemned the hurried removal of the emir by the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje led administration.
