Liz Truss has emerged as the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
A former Foreign Minister in the Boris Johnson Conservative government, she defeated her rival Rishi Sunak in the keenly contested election to become the new Conservative leader.
She is expected to be sworn in on Tuesday to replace Johnson, the outgoing British leader.
