Breaking: Gov. Uzodimma Sacks His Special Advisers & Special Assistants

Imo State Governor, Friday afternoon, June 4, 2021, sacked all his Aides.

Affected were his Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants.

The Commissioner for Information & Strategy,  Declan Emelumba, announced the dissolution the sack to Reporters during a Media briefing.

Earlier, the Governor had set up a Committee to evaluate the performance of his Aides. The Committee was expected to tell him:

*Those who, actually, embraced his Government’s policies, and are working hard to implement them.

*Those who are not proud of the Government they are working for.

*Those who are holding the positions just to feather their political  nest and,

*Those who have under-performed.

It was based on the submission of the Committee’s report that he sacked them.

It is not known if he would eventually re-appoint some of them, adjudged to have done well, but Commissioner Emelumba said the Secretary to the State Government, Cosmas Iwu,  would convey such decisions, accordingly, to those affected.

Recall that Uzodimma had, a couple of weeks back, sacked 20 members of his Cabinet. He left only seven of them, and is yet to reconstitute a new cabinet.
