The swearing in ceremony took place today in Port Harcourt, the state’s capital.
The commissioners, the magazine recalls, had earlier resigned from their positions last December at the height of the crisis that rocked the oil producing state.
Fubara, and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, have lost confidence in themselves, leading to the struggle for the soul of the state.
The commissioners had resigned in their support for Wike, though sources said Governor Fubara had demanded that they chose between him and the former governor.
The intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, close sources in the state said brought stability that the state now enjoy, though analysts insist that what is currently playing out is peace of the graveyard.
According to them, part of the deal reached by the feuding parties with the president, is the return of the former commissioners to Fubara’s cabinet.
Speaking during the swearing in on Friday the state helmsman said it was unfortunate that the nine commissioners were caught up in the crisis of confidence between him and Wike, a former ally.
While congratulating the commissioners, Fubara urged them to be guided by the interest of the state in their heart.
He said “I don’t think I have any charge for you. You have already read your charge to uphold the Constitution of the fed republic of Nigeria. I urge you to do the right thing.
“I can see how heavy your hearts are. I don’t blame you. You were caught between the crossfire.”
The governor rode on the wings of the FCT minister to power last year but later chose his own path.
