This magazine gathered that he chose not to be treated at a public Isolation Centre.

Instead, he chose to get treatment for the disease  at the high profile First Cardiology and Cardiovascular Consultants, Ikoyi, one of the few private hospitals approved by the Lagos State Government to manage the Virus.

It was the same hospital where the former Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Malam Abba Kyari, sought treatment. Unfortunately, Kyari passed on, mainly because, he had other underlying health issues.

Ajimobi, 70, is the National Deputy Chairman, South-west, of the APC, and the first governor to enjoy a second term in Oyo state. But he was unable to install a successor.

The PDP took back the state from the APC, on Ajimobi’s watch.

A former Senator, Ajimobi, also, failed in his bid to go back to the Senate as he was roundly defeated by the PDP candidate.

He is on record to have declared that COVID-19 is not a death sentence when he sent a message of goodwill to his successor, PDP’s Seyi Makinde, who was down with the Virus. Makings has since recovered.

He had said: “COVID-19 is not a death sentence.

As for all our health workers, we appreciate them for their frontline role in the fight against the disease.”
