In apparent reaction to public outcry against Naira, Marley performing at Jabi Park, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Ministerial Enforcement Task Team of COVID 19 Restrictions has sealed up the Jabi Lake Mall indefinitely. They claimed the Mall violated the Task Force directive on the ban on public gatherings.
No punitive measure has been announced against Naira Marley.
Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, recently performed a drive-in concert at the said Jabi Lake Mall Park, Abuja, despite coronavirus gathering restrictions.
The event, organized by Play Network Africa, Traffic Bar, EL’carnival, and sponsored by Glenfiddich, has sparked outrage among Nigerians in social media, particularly as it appeared that Naira Marley is being treated with kid gloves because of a large following. Only recently, he was arraigned for violating social distancing rules of COVID 19 and set free. Popular actress Funke Akindele was not so lucky, having to be forced to do community service after conviction. Akindele pled guilty.
The ticket for the Jabi park event ranged from N20,000 and 250,000.
Fans were said to be mingling without face masks, ignoring social distancing.
Recently, too, Naira Marley was seen with Kim Opara, Big brother Housemate, alighting from a private jet despite flight restrictions, giving impressions that there are official collaborators of his misdemeanor.
