The first stage of plans to remove Ibrahim Magu, acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC may have been effectively executed, following his arrest by the Department of State Services, DSS.
Few weeks ago, Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), wrote a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, requesting that Magu be replaced as the boss of the anti-graft agency.
TheCable reported that one of the reasons why the EFCC boss was arrested was because he traveled to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates without the authorisation of the president during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Some top retired police officer have been penciled to take over from Magu who have also been accused of living a life of opulence.
This may just be the beginning of the end for the EFCC czar, watchers of current event said.
More to come………………..
