An, at once shocked and angry Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, top shot described them as men without character.
But the unflattering description is not likely to stop the tsunami that would hit the PDP camp at the Imo House of Assembly, Tuesday.
An, at once shocked and angry Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, top shot described them as men without character.
But the unflattering description is not likely to stop the tsunami that would hit the PDP camp at the Imo House of Assembly, Tuesday.
A highly reliable source confirmed to the magazine Monday night that, at least, six members of the PDP family in the Assembly, would, during plenary, Tuesday, decamp to the now ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Before the Supreme Court verdict of January 14, which removed PDP’s the Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, and installed Senator Hope Uzidinma as Governor, PDP had a comfortable majority in the IMHA. The APC had no member.
But no longer.
Last Tuesday, nine members from the PDP, the Grand Progressive Alliance, APGA and, the Action Alliance, AA, decamped to the APC.
Barely a week after, the APC will reap more unbelievable fruits.
To decamp at Plenary Tuesday (today) from the PDP to the APC are Honourables Chigozie Nwaneri, (Majority Leader, Oru East), Uche Ogbuagu (Ikeduru), Eddie Obinna (Aboh Mbaise), Samuel Otuibe (Ahiazu Mbaise), and Dominic Ezerioha (Our West)
There are, also, strong speculations that Hon Anayo Onyemechi, (Owerri West), might join the APC train.
Taken for granted is that of the Speaker, Hon Collins Chiji (Isiala Mbano). He was of APGA, but decamped to the PDP a couple of days to the inauguration of the Assembly to become the Speaker.
To remain the Speaker, since the office is zoned to Okigwe, he needs to decamp to the APC, the party which from zero-membership, would now control the House.
The Deputy Speaker, Hon Okey Olekanma, (Mbaitoli), recently resigned from office. For now, he remains in the PDP.
…Details, later.
