Breaking: Dikko, Former Customs CG Hospitalised, Faces Arrest

Abdullahi Inde Dikko, former Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service is very sick and has been hospitalized in an undisclosed hospital in the United Kingdom, the magazine has learnt from those close to him.

In spite of his ailment, an Abuja Federal High Court on Monday ordered his arrest for failure to present himself in court to defend himself on corruption related issues.

The former CG is facing trial for alleged N1.1bn brought against him by the Code of Conduct Commission.

While presiding over the case on Monday, the presiding judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu said the former customs boss has no respect for the court.

Dikko’s lawyer, Justice Ojukwu said has failed several promises he made to present him in court.

Solomon Akuma (SAN), is Dikko’s lawyer in the matter.

Justice Ojukwu said Dikko and his lawyer have been lying that he‘s ill and currently in a London hospital.

She stated that the court will only withdraw the arrest warrant when it’s sure that Dikko is actually on admission in a London hospital.

Justice Ojukwu has directed security agencies to arrest the former customs boss and produce him in court on March 16, 2020, which is the next adjourned date for arraignment.

Sources told the magazine on Monday that the ex-CG would not appear in court any time soon due to his battle with the undisclosed ailment.
