With shortage of doctors and Abuja under under lock down, hospitals in Abuja are being forced to evict doctors from their quarters as such quarters are to be used as a quarantine center for Covid-19.

A distress letter released by a Lagos based human rights Lawyer, Richard Akinola II, on his Facebook page indicated that the doctors, house officers, are being literally thrown into the streets without any provision during a period no one will admit them into their home.

“We’ve just been given a 24-hour eviction notice by the hospital management to leave, so our hospital will be used as FCTA isolation center for COVID-19 treatment. This is the inhumanity doctors are subjected to in a city on lock-down”, the letter read.
“Some of us are not primary residents of Abuja and have nowhere to go. We’re here for our housemanship for which some of us are yet to be paid after four months on the job in a city with a prohibitive cost of living as Abuja. We deserve better than this inhuman treatment from the bourgeoisie ruling this country.”
Below is a copy of the letter of eviction. This is a developing story…
