The federal government has suspended, indefinitely, the operations of the microblogging and social networking service, Twitter, in Nigeria.
The suspension is considered a retaliation after the USA based micro-blogging service removed Buhari’s video and comment, threatening to re-enact the civil war treatment against secessionists elements in the country.
The federal government had after the sanction accused Twitter of bias and trying to destroy the country.
The ministerof information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced the suspension in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, citing the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.
