Breaking: Abductors Release Methodist Prelate, Uche

His Eminence, the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Samuel Kanu Uche, has been released by his abductors.

Uche was abducted  Sunday  afternoon, May 29, 2022, at Umunneochi, Abia State while in his way back from a Church function.

Abducted along with him were his Chaplain and the Bishop of Owerri Diocese, His Lordship, the Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark.

Their abductors had demanded for ransom money to the tune of N100m, prompting the Methodist Church, Nigeria, in a release signed by the Secretary of Conference, the Rt Rev (Dr).Michael Akinwale,  to appeal for donations to effect their release.

It is not known, yet, if Bishop Dennis and the Prelate’s Chaplain were also released, but the Archbishop of Ilesha Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Akinlose Akindeko, confirmed the Prelate’s release to Newsport Nigeria.

The Abia State Police Command is yet to confirm the Prelate’s freedom from the hands of the hoodlums.
