A tragedy of monumental proportion has befallen the Christian Community in Nigeria, especially, in Adamawa State.

Reports say that the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Adamawa state branch, Rev. Lawan  Andimi has been executed by the blood thirsty Boko Haram terrorist.

Andimi was abducted on January 3, during a raid in Michika, Adamawa State, by the sect. He was declared missing after the raid by a faction of the Islamic sect.

A few days ago, he had appeared in a video posted by the sect, pleading in a most compelling voice, with the sect to release him.

He had, also, disclosed that he was being looked after, well, by his abductors who, he said gave him good food and accommodation.

Nobody could confirm, however, whether he sincerely talked about the good treatment, or forced to say so.

But hearing him, for the first time since that January, the  3rd, gave hope and comfort that

he was alive, and might be released with time.

Very sadly, reports emerged Tuesday, that he was executed on Monday.

Breaking the heart-wrenching news, Nigerian Journalist, Ahmad Saldika, who is known to have a close  professional relationship with the sect, and who had, on a number of times, helped the Nigerian government during negotiations with the sect, said the Cleric was executed on Monday.

On his verified twitter handle, Tuesday, Saldika wrote:

” To break some news items can traumatize. I am breaking with one of such. Reverend Andimi abducted by #Boko Haram was executed yesterday. Rev Andimi was a Church Leader, a father to his children, and the community he served. My condolences go to the family.

The execution of Rev. Andimi adds to the hundreds of innocent Nigerians executed by the terrorist group since it birthed in Nigeria.

It would, also, add to the tension and suspicion between the Christian and Muslim communities in Nigeria over the activities of the sect.
