More reactions continue to trail the invasion of the residence of a Justice of the Supreme Court, Mary Peter-Odili by security agents last week in Abuja.

The Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, (SAN) held a meeting with the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami SAN, in Abuja on the incident.

Speaking on behalf of the SANs at the Federal Ministry of Justice Abuja, on Tuesday, Chief Solomon Awomolo SAN, said they were concerned about the incident, insisting that Government must unearth those behind that national disgrace.

Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) Worldwide, a socio-economic group, in a statement, warned security operatives to stop harassing Niger-Delta Judges.

In a press statement issued and signed by its President, Ambassador Comrade Curtis Eghosa Ugbo, stated that “Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) Worldwide takes exception to the treatment meted out to Justice Mary Odili by some unscrupulous security operatives.

“Information that the security operatives acted based on a court order has since been denied, refuted by some of the security agencies accused of involvement.

“Of great concern to us is that Justice Odili is not the first Niger Delta son/daughter in the judiciary to be so humiliated by some shady security operatives acting on the orders of their paymasters.

“BSM will advise the shady paymasters of the security operatives to learn how to follow due process in such matters so as not to portray themselves as harbingers of evil.

“We are using this opportunity to send a strong warning to whoever is behind all these acts of unbridled resort to self adulation that their days in the sun are numbered.

“If they don’t change their style we assure them that we will have no choice than to resort to whatever legal means that will free us from their acts of humiliating our sons and daughters.

“Any other action that we perceive to be a humiliation of any of our sons/daughters in the judiciary would be met with stiff opposition in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
