Biodun Oyebanji Wins Ekiti APC Governorship Primary Election

Biodun Oyebanji has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primary Election in Ekiti state.

Oyebanji, a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), defeated other challengers to emerge winner of the Primary election on Thursday.

The results were announced by Mohammed Badaru, Jigawa State Governor and Chairman of the Primary Election Committee.

Oyebanji will be the APC’s standard-bearer in the June 18 governorship election to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

A favorite of Governor Kayode Fayemi to succeed him, six aspirants withdrew from the contest citing favouritsm, and asking for the cancelation/ rescheduling of the Primary for a level playing ground.
