Bauchi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Takko, has been relieved of her duties.
The decision was approved by Governor Bala Mohammed and announced in a brief statement on Monday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
No reason was given for the action.
“In that respect, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs & Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko, has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect,” the statement reads.
Gidado added: “The Governor thanks the Honourable Commissioner for her services to the State and wishes her success in her future endeavors.”
The statement described the move as part of “minor cabinet changes” but did not provide further reasons for her removal.
Takko was sworn in as commissioner on September 9, 2024. Before her elevation to the Executive Council, she served as Caretaker Chairperson for Bauchi Local Government Area, following her appointment by the Governor in July 2023.
