At Independence: Fubara Calls For Defeat  Of Judicial Terrorism, Abuse Of Power

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on his colleagues from the Northern region to redouble their efforts towards halting the scourge of insecurity currently ravaging the area.

This is even as he called for concerted efforts by the Governors of the oil producing States to fight the spate of pipeline vandalism and oil theft .

Governor Fubara who spoke in Port-Harcourt  Tuesday on the occasion of Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary, thumped up President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold policies towards revamping the moribund economy of the country.

In a statement issued by his Media Aide Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Fubara, however, warned his traducers that he will not  give in to intimidation and blackmailing antics

This is just as he assured that his administration will always make the security of lives and properties the cornerstone, while also promoting equal socio-economic opportunities for all irrespective of political, religious, and ethnic persuasions.

“We will continue to support and work with the Federal Government and Security Agencies to advance the security and wellbeing of all citizens, protect national economic assets and guarantee the security and smooth operations of Local, National and Multinational companies and investment in our State.

“We also assure the  Federal Government and Mr President of unalloyed loyalty and support from the Government and good people of Rivers state and reaffirm our commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria as one indivisible nation”, the Governor stated

The Rivers State Governor, particularly, lauded President Tinubu’s economic reforms policies, insisting that they are bold and potentially impactful in the vision of correcting the structural defects of the past.

He, therefore, appealed to Nigerians to come together, and keep faith with  the  dreams and missions of the founding fathers.

He expressed the optimism that with unity of purpose, Nigeria will overcome the present challenges facing it as a nation.

“We are also known for our rich cultural diversity – a vibrant nation where different religions, languages and traditions co-exist peacefully.

“It is, therefore, important for Nigerians to keep faith with the vision of the founding leaders and do so by reaffirming their fidelity to one indivisible nation under God and pledge themselves to each other in freedom ,peace and justice.

“Let us also  commit ourselves to work hand in hand with the Federal Government to tackle the economic ,social and political challenges including judicial terrorism nepotism,corruption ,and abuse of power that have diminished our democracy, stifled our economic growth and caused untold hardship to our people.

“With an unyielding commitment to democracy, rule of law, and good governance, and working together for the common interest, we can overcome all our challenges and prevail over the enemies of progress”, Fubara noted .

The Rivers State Governor stated that despite distractions, his administration will not waver in its determination to deliver on its mandate.

He expressed confidence in God’s abilities to see his administration through the present travails and propel it into promoting, protecting and defending the political, social and economic interests of Rivers state at all cost.

“I further assure you that we will never compromise on our commitments to delivering the dividends of democracy and good governance to the citizens of Rivers state,” he stated.
