In what appears to be a taste of what to expect from the Governorship Primary Election of the Osun State All Progressives Congress, APC, Minister for Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has lost his Ward 8 Ifofin Ilesha East, to Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
Aregbesola had been on rampage for days, campaigning against Oyetola, calling him incompetent, saying he was imposed on the people by APC chieftain, Bola Tinubu, allegedly a nephew of his, and lashing out, unsparingly, at Tinubu.
The Minister had sworn to sack Oyetola, and reduce him to a one-term Governor.
But as the results of the Primary held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, begin to trickle in, one of the shocks is that Minister Aregbesola lost his Ward.
Perhaps, sensing what was likely to happen, Aregbesola was not available to even cast his vote for his preferred candidate Chief Adeoti, a former Secretary to the State Government under him, who he had dumped in the Election that ushered in Oyetola as Governor.
Saheed Adegoke, the leader of the Aregbesola camp in the area, confirmed that the Minister was absent.
