The Oyo State Government has implored the people of the State to remain calm, thus, allaying fears of residents of Ibadan following the delay by Government on the approval of the Olubadan designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
Olakulehin was nominated by the Olubadan-In-Council weeks back, but State Governor, Seyi Makinde is yet to approve the nomination, prompting residents to raise alarm.
But Olusegun Olayiwola, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters said the delay in the approval was due to administrative issues that will be addressed soon.
Allaying the fears of the people, the Commissioner said: “The process of coronating an Oba is not something one should toy with. And this is a Paramount Ruler, he is an Imperial Majesty and we need to follow due process.
“There are several things we have to look into. There are some administrative works that we have to take into consideration. But, I can assure you that not too long, you are going to hear from us, not too long.”
