Bala Ibrahim, the APC Director of Publicity said opposition forces in the country must do more to kick the party out of power in  2027 because the party has the best agenda for the country.

The APC reacted following reports that plans are in the offing by some northern political elements to form a mega party alongside their allies from the southern part of the country.

As part of their plans, the LND said efforts are ongoing to form a mega party capable of countering the ruling APC.

Umar Ado, the spokesman of the LND said the ruling party needs to be dislodged from power having failed to tackle the myriads of economic, social and security problems facing the country. It said the ruling party has been lying to Nigerians that they have the capacity to turn the country around.

Reacting, Ibrahim described LND’s plan as a mere ranting, assuring that the party will be returned to power in 2027, adding that the LND poses no threats the ruling party.  A

“But we have the best agenda for Nigeria. We have the best policies and programmes that will benefit Nigerians. Our policies will yield positive results before 2027 and Nigerians will re-elect our party.”

Meanwhile, the magazine reports that the development is coming on the heels of clarion calls by some Nigerians on the leading opposition leaders in the country such as Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwakwanso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, to join forces ahead the next presidential election to dislodge the APC from power.

The three politicians have recently denied such plans.
