The All Progressive Congress, APC ,at the weekend pointedly told businessman, Prince Arthur Eze, to concentrate on running his business empire rather than assigning himself the role of Presidential spokesman.

The Party’s cautionary note is coming against the backdrop of remarks credited to Eze to the effect that President Bola Tinubu has endorsed the Enugu state Governor Peter Mbah for a second term in office.

While speaking during the occasion of the second year anniversary celebration of the Governor in office on Thursday May, 29, 2025 , Prince Eze informed that Mbah’s  sterling performance  has earned him Presidential accolades and endorsement.

For the records, President  Tinubu is  of the APC while Governor Mbah belongs to the rival Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Curiously, Prince Eze is neither a card carrying member of the two rival platforms, nor a partisan political actor.

However, in a scathing rebuttal, the Enugu State chapter of the APC chided the business mogul for delving into an unsolicited task of speaking for the President.

While emphatically, debunking Eze’s claim of President Tinubu’s endorsement of Mbah for  a second term in office, the Party advised him to refrain from making statements capable of undermining the integrity of both the President and democracy in the country.

In the statement issued by its Publicity Secretary,Titus Ezeagu, the APC urged the public to ignore  Eze’s purported claims  and described it as his “personal opinion driven by self interest rather than political reality.

“Let it be made clear: the President has not made any statement, public or private, endorsing any Governor in any state for a second term, including Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State.

“Prince Arthur Eze is not a member of the APC. He is neither a spokesperson for President Tinubu, nor has he ever played any official role in the President’s campaign or administration.

“We urge Prince Eze to concentrate on his business ventures and allow the democratic process to unfold in accordance with the constitution without resort to spreading cheap propaganda which will put Mr President in bad light – national and international .

“His attempt to prop up Governor Mbah’s anti-people governance using the name of President Tinubu is not only false, but a manifest move to once more undermine the democratic process in Enugu ,and Nigeria in general”, the APC stated.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to evolving into a formidable force, and strong alternative political platform for the disenchanted people of Enugu state.

According to the party, a meaningful endorsement will only come through the constitutionally recognized electoral process with the electorate as the determinant.

The party also expressed its implicit confidence in the ability of the party’s  leadership, ably coordinated by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nwakaibe to steer it  towards the path of resilience and ultimate victory.
