Nichola Ukachukwu, the candidate of the All Progressives Candidate in the November 8 election has launched a veiled attack on Governor Charles Soludo, saying he’s all grammar with nothing to show for his four years administration.
According to Ukachukwu, the godfather-turned candidate, “Academic certificates or grammar do not build industries—factories, power, and security do,”, a remark considered to be referencing Governor Soludo, a Professor of Economics and former Governor of the Nigerian Central Bank.
The APC candidate made the remark while outlining his manifesto at a meeting with over 200 members of the Association of Pass President Generals of Anambra State, APPAS, held at the Amawbia Town Hall in Awka South Local Government Area of the State, on Wednesday.
He spoke less than two months before the governorship election to be conducted by the nation’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Ukachukwu said security, health and infrastructure, agriculture will be his priority if elected to be the chief executive of the state, promising to end the menace of kidnapping by converting their den to factories.
He said, “In Anambra, it is either you are manufacturing, trading, or farming. We will provide the enabling environment for these activities to thrive. Academic certificates or grammar do not build industries—factories, power, and security do
“If elected as the governor by God’s grace, my administration will ensure that any kidnapper’s den located in any part of Anambra will be dismantled and converted into an industrial hub,
“Security would be my administration’s first point of call. I will ensure a functional primary and secondary healthcare system in the state.
“I will give honorarium to any President Generals after serving their community diligently.”
The magazine reports that the upcoming governorship election is being handled as a do-or-die affair by the APC and APGA, which Governor Soludo represents.
The governor and Ukachukwu have used every available opportunity to launch verbal assaults’ against each other, a situation that watchers of politics in the state said has somehow raised the stakes in the November election.
APC Deputy Governorship candidate, Senator Uche Ekuwnife was recently drawn into the battle of assaults after she accused Governor Soludo’s wife of being unfaithful to her husband, in response to the governor’s allegation that the senator Phd certificate was fake.
The governor and his family have now taken the case to court claiming defamation.
