Another political logjam is looming as the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward in Ganduje, Dawakin Tofa Local Government, Area of Kano State has suspended the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The announcement was made by the ward’s Legal Adviser, Halliru Gwanzo, who addressed Journalists in Kano on Monday.
Gwanzo cited allegations of bribery against Ganduje leveled by the Kano State Government as the reason for the suspension.
“We decided to suspend Dr. Ganduje from the party due to the seriousness of the allegations against him,” Gwanzo stated.
The suspension, effective immediately, throws the leadership of the APC into question and could have wider implications for Nigerian politics in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
Dr. Ganduje has not yet commented on the suspension.
The NNDP controlled government of Kano state had set up a panel to probe the immediate past administration of Ganduje, who is being accused of various illegalities.
