Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, said he has forgiven all his enemies, especially those wishing him dead from his State.
The former Governor said he has no heart to harbour enmity but always wished everyone, including those who wished him dead, well. He urged the people to imbibe the spirit of true forgiveness adding that his forgiving spirit, even in the face of betrayal, has been key to his success in life endeavours.
He stressed that the reason behind his being alive is that God wants him to impact humanity positively.
He made this assertion at Mbatiav Community in Gboko Local Government Area when members of the community visited him to solidarize with him at his residence in Makurdi, the State Capital.
According to him: “Some wished me dead but God kept me to impact humanity. That is why I forgive easily and God also forgives my inadequacies as well.”
He commended the people of Mbatiav for always being supportive of his political journey and urged them to sustain the goodwill because it would not be in vain.
Senator Akume also urged them to “continue to pray for President Bola Tinubu in his determination to eradicate poverty in the country and make life better for all Nigerians because that is his number one priority.”
The Traditional Ruler of the community, Mue Ter Gbemacha, Chief Ijiir Tarzoho, commended President Tinubu for appointing Senator Akume as the SGF, and described him as a competent, dependable and reliable hand.
Tarzoho also appreciated Senator Akume for his good works, particularly for facilitating the appointment of his subjects into various positions.
He further appealed to him to facilitate the establishment of a cement factory in Mbatiav, and stressed that his domain is endowed with abundant raw materials for cement production.
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Gboko LGA, Basil Yina commended the sterling leadership qualities of Senator Akume which he said has fostered unity among political parties in Gboko.
