The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), on Sunday, has declared the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Ararkunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN of the All Progressives Congress (APC), winner of the Governorship election which was held on Saturday October 10.
He emerged winner of the election which held across the 302 wards in the 18 local government areas of the State.
Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 292,830 votes while Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 195,780 votes.
His enstranged deputy, Agboola Ajayi, who contested on the ticket of Zenith Labour Party, (ZLP) polled 69,127 to place third.
In its first reaction to the result, the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) said it would study the result of the Ondo state Governorship election and take necessary action .
Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Peretei Kennedy, dropped the hint while addressing newsmen at the residence of the PDP candidate, Mr Eyitayo Jegede in Akure after the declaration of the Governorship election result.
Mr Peretei urged PDP supporters to be in high spirit and be optimistic, alleging that there were pocket of violence in owo, Ese-odo among others.
