Akeredolu Appreciates Okeagbe Monarch For Development Strides

Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has congratulated the traditional ruler of Okeagbe Akoko, Oba Oladunjoye Fajana on his 30 years coronation anniversary,  his sterling, outstanding  commitment to peace and development in the kingdom.

Governor Akeredolu, gave the accolade in his speech at Okeagbe Akoko at the weekend during the coronation anniversary of the monarch.

The Governor noted that with relative peace and unity over 30 years of the regin of Oba Fajana, there was no doubt that the monarch has recorded monumental achievemens in the history of Ondo state.

“I congratulate you on your outstanding achievements. I also want to felicitate with the people of Okeagbe for their commitment to peace.

“There is no record of conflict among the four communities that united to form Okeagbe community.

“Okeagbe has taught other towns and villages in the state on how to live together in peace and unity.”

Mr Akeredolu, was represented by Human Rights Activist, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Dr. Tunji Abayomi.

The Governor continued “I am  glad that Oba Fajana is a man of peace. Okeagbe is a very important town in the state.

“I salute the sons and daughters of Okeagbe for their contributions to Ondo state in particular and Nigeria as whole. Indigenes of this community have made their marks in their chosen career.”

In his address, Oba Fajana said “I have  the unique honour to serve as the custodian and protector of Afa tradition.

“I am optimistic about the impact that I was going to make. Today, we celebrate some of those achievements and my heart is gladdened.

“There is much yet to be discovered in my beautiful Okeagbe and even our immense potential. I am confident that this is just the beginning of our trajectory towards a much better society.

“Let us support, encourage, love one another just as God has asked us to. Let us give unto Caesar’s what is his.

“We shall prosper in all seasons, we shall work and not to be too tired to fend for our families and shall overcome all obstacles for the good Lord is our strength.”

Earlier in his address, the Chairman, Planning Committee, Prince Olusoga Sofolahan described Oba  Fajana as a man loved by the people, professional and economic guru.

He commended the ability of the royal father to bring the people together and a world class leader that all his people can be proud of any day, anytime and anywhere.

The colourful ceremony was unique as it once again brought Indigenes of the community together and an opportunity to contribute their quota to the development of the town.

It was also a unique opportunity for politicians from different political groups to sell their programmes and aspirations to the people of Okeagbe.
