Colourful politician and former Senate President, the late Dr Chuba Okadigbo must be turning in his grave now. And so would his ex-wife, and former Minister for State, FCT, Professor Miriam Ikejiani-Clark.
Their son, Pharaoh Okadigbo, died in Abuja, Saturday night, in very tragic circumstances.
His vehicle ran into a trailer loaded with crates of drinks from behind, and he was killed in the accident.
For the Okadigbo family, it is one death too many. Three years ago, in May 2018, the late Senate President also lost a son, Jideofor, in the United States. He was aged 30 years.
Pharaoh was the first son of Chuba Okadigbo and Ikejiani-Clark. They had four children together before they divorced.
Ikejiani-Clark was a lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, before she was appointed a Minister.
President Muhammadu Buhari, whose running mate Okadigbo was in 2003, during one of his failed shots at the Presidential seat, has already sent a condolence message to the Okadigbo family, bemoaning Pharaoh’s sudden death.
The condolence letter was signed on his behalf by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
