Newly re-elected President of the African Development Bank, AfDB, Nigeria’s Dr Akinwumi Adesina, will be sworn into office for a second five-year tenure in office on Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
Adesina was unanimously re-elected by all the members of the Board of Governors and other stakeholders on August 27, 2020.
The ceremony will be attended by Heads of State, Governors, and external stakeholders in strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
Adesina, Nigeria’s Minister for Agriculture under former President Goodluck Jonathan, is a globally renowned development economist and, World Food Prize Laureate.
He was first elected the President of AfDB on May 28, 2015.
