Coach Gernot Rohr of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has called on the players invited to prosecute the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Crocodiles of Lesotho and the Squirrels of Benin Republic to arrive early after their club matches this weekend.
The Super Eagles will play Benin Republic on Thursday, November 14th, 2019, at the Uyo International Stadium, Akwa Ibom, before getting out to Maseru, Lesotho Capital, for their second match in the qualification series.
The invited players are to arrive at the Ibom Resort Hotel, in Akwa Ibom, immediately after their club engagements over the weekend for the double header.
The former German player said that any player that arrives late for the crucial encounter with Benin Republic and Lesotho will face his wrath.
Rohr, speaking in Egypt, where he went on a solidarity mission to support Assistant Coach, Imama Amakapabo, who led the Nigeria Under-23 team for the Under-23 AFCON tournament, where they will be hustling with other teams for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic ticket.
Rohr will watch the team’s opening match against the Junior Elephants of Ivory Coast at the Alexandria Stadium in Cairo.
“I am here to cheer you guys to victory, because I know some of you will soon join me in the Super Eagles team, so I implore you to give in your best, and ensure you qualify for the Olympics”, the Franco-German tactician concluded.
