Contrary to reports making the round that Aishatu Binani of the All Progressives Congress, APC, won the Governorship Election in Adamawa State, defeating incumbent Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the opposite is the case.
Fintiri defeated the APC Female Candidate with over 31,000 Votes. And, Nigerian women are upset
Binani was on the verge of making history as the first elected Female Governor in the history of Nigeria. Sadly, she failed.
Fintiri scored a total of 421,522 votes, while his closest challenger, Binani of the APC, scored 390,275 votes from the 21 local governments.
Fintiri won in 13 local governments while Binani won in eight.
INEC is expected to officially declare Fintiri the winner of the election soon.
