Abimbola Owoade has, finally, been crowned the Alaafin of Oyo.
He becomes the 46th Alaafin of Oyo as he succeeded Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who passed on April 22, 2022, aged 83.
It would be recalled that the new Alaafin of was presented with the Staff of and instrument of office on Monday, January 13, by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
Oba Owoade had completed the compulsory 21-day traditional rites known as Oro Ipebi on Saturday, March 29.
The Coronation was held at Oliveth Baptist High School in Oyo.
Governor Makinde led a host of dignitaries to the coronation ceremony.
The dignitaries include: the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye.
Others are: the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi and the Aare Oona Kankanfo of Yoruba, Iba Gani Adams, among others.
