The newly appointed Acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, Ali Dalori formally assumed office on Monday June 30, 2025 ,with a charge to party faithful to reconnect with the grassroots ,and re-energize the party’s structures for the battle ahead.
This is as he acknowledged the remarkable contributions of his immediate predecessor in office Dr Abdullahi Ganduje to the growth of the party.
The Source reports that Ganduje the immediate past Governor of Kano State, a couple of days ago, resigned his position, in a move which has opened a floodgate of political speculations .
Although he had cited the need to attend to his failing health as a major reason for suddenly quitting his plumb job, not a few are convinced that he may have been forced to make way in the face of emerging political contingencies ahead of the doggy re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dalori, Deputy National Chairman of APC North before his emergence as the Acting National Chairman ,also noted that his appointment is not in any way a personal triumph ,but a call to service.
He informed that he has accepted the rare challenge with the commitment towards meeting the high expectations of the teeming members of the APC across the country and also with the full awareness of the enormous task ahead .
“My appointment to this role is not a personal victory; it is a responsibility, I embrace with the full awareness of the challenges ahead, and the expectations of millions of our members and supporters across the country.
“In deed ,this is period for consolidation, not conflict, for maturity, not division and vision, not personal ambition.
“As we head toward 2027, we must begin now to strengthen our internal processes ,reconnect with our grassroots ,and re-energize our structures across all levels”,Dalori stated.
While appreciating Dr Ganduje for his contributions to the growth and stability the party, the new helmsman also commended members of the National Working Committee, NWC, for their collaborative efforts and support in the concerted efforts at safeguarding the party’s unity ,discipline and direction.
Dalori promised to continue marketing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President, insisting that it is not just a campaign slogan, but a living and proven framework for the resolution of the most fundamental challenges facing the country, particularly in the areas of security and economy.
He emphasized the need for members to rededicate themselves to the pursuit of unity in the face of the known challenges and difficulties normally associated with political transitions .
“We must avoid actions and words that can divide us ,our shared belief in the future of Nigeria and the future of APC”, be noted .
