Isaac Fayose, the younger sibling of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has said that both the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister Nyesom Wike and his estranged godson Governor Siminalayi Fubara do not possess the required political trajectory at the moment to influence victory for President Bola Tinubu in Rivers state in 2027.

This is as he emphasized that with Peter Obi on the ballot in 2027, President Tinubu will struggle to garner 25 percent of votes cast in Rivers state.

The social media activist maintained that only the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the Police are in a better position to give victory to the President.

In a video posted on his official site on Saturday January 10, 2026, the younger Fayose claimed that neither Wike nor Fubara could give victory to President Tinubu without rigging.

According to him, the people are so disenchanted by the shenanigans ongoing in the Rivers state that it will be difficult for the actors including the President, to gain the trust and confidence of voters.

“Make we no deceive ourselves. Both Wike and Fubara, none of them can win Rivers election for APC or  Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 without rigging.

“The only “persons” that can win Rivers election for APC and Bola Ahmed Tinubu are INEC and the Police ,not Fubara and Wike”, Fayose claimed.

He further noted that the festering squabble between Governor Fubara and his godfather is driven purely by the quest to control the vast resources of Rivers state.

The social critic further stated that both political actors have been aiming to control Rivers state humongous allocations and Internally generated revenue IGR, while  posturing as if they are fighting to protect the interests of the people.

“Fubara has saved a lot of money and Wike is looking at this money. That is what they are fighting for”,he added.

Fayose expressed strong conviction that with Obi, the 2023 Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate on the ballot , Rivers state real voters will definitely throw, the APC , Wike and Fubara under the bus.

“The real voters in Rivers State are just looking at them (Wike and Fubara).

“In all the Local Government tours they have been  embarking, the people who they have greased their hands are not up to 30,000.

” If Peter Obi is on the ballot , neither Wike nor Fubara can get 25 percent of the total votes cast in Rivers state”, Fayose noted.

According to him, the so-called local council tours by both contending  camps in Rivers state are simply ineffective subtle moves to influence voters through financial inducement…

Fayose’s submission is coming against the backdrop of the renewed  rift between Wike and Fubara ,which has resulted in the pro-Wike state law makers serving an impeachment notice on the Governor.

In the impeachment process which commenced on Thursday, January 8, 2025, the legislators, accused Governor Fubara of extra-budgetary expenditure, withholding of funds meant for the  House of Assembly Service Commission,  administrative and constitutional breaches among other offences.
