The focus of Abubakar, he said, has shifted from the crisis rocking the PDP, to a more bigger goal of rescuing the country from the current political and economic quagmire.

Fabiyi spoke on Channels Television The Morning Brief on Wednesday, few hours after the PDP held its NEC to resolve the protracted crisis in the party.

The presidential ambition of Abubakar, a former Nigerian Vice President is believed to be one of the problems at the center of the crisis. The former number two citizen who ran under PDP in 2023 but lost, has yet to declare interest for the next presidential race, even as his critics warn that  it’s better for him not to run in other to keep the party united.

Speaking, Fabiyi said the former PDP presidential candidate is more focused on how to galvanise support to unseat the ruling party from power, saying however that Abubakar, who is among leading opposition leader, planning to form a coalition ahead the next election, has the right to run for the Presidency.

The politician has held talks with key opposition leaders such as Peter Obi of the Labour Party, former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, amongt others for the emergence a political force capable of dislodging the APC.

According to Fabiyi, Nigerians are the one which will decide whether they want Atiku in the contest or not saying the former PDP candidate is currently busy on how to “reclaim’ the country and make her “better”, adding that no singer party can send APC out of power.

Fabiyi: “Atiku is focusing on Nigeria, how to redeem and rescue Nigeria — and that is what the man is doing.

“He has never said ‘I am going to run.’ People are the ones saying he should come and run. He’s presently preoccupied with how we reclaim this country and make it better.

“You see that he’s not even involving himself in all these shenanigans of the PDP anymore, and he’s still a member of the party. There is no way a single party can defeat an incumbent.

“That’s why Atiku is calling, because of his vision, saying, ‘Guys, let us come together as opposition parties’ — whether it is El-Rufai, Peter Obi or anybody — we are all in the opposition now and we need to rescue this Nigeria.”

The magazine reports that Abubakar has contested the Presidency six times, the last one he lost to the incumbent Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Nigerian politricksters are a bunch of hypocrites, ethnic, selfish and religious bigots. Their saving grace is the unholy DOCILITY of the peoples of Nigeria. It will NOT be long for the peoples to take back their land from these NARCISSISTIC MARAUDERS. SOON VERY SOON.
