If the number of Governors who signed the Presidential Nomination form of All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is anything to by, then, he could be on his way to clinching the Presidential ticket of the Party.
Tinubu, whose form was submitted on his behalf by a group led by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former Secretary to the Federal Government, Babachir Lawal, on Wednesday, is a frontline Presidential aspirant under the banner of the APC.
It has been revealed that out of the 22 Governors of the APC, 12 of them signed Tinubu’s forms. That’s more than half. And, considering that Governors control the delegates from their States, it is taken for granted that delegates from those States are likely to cast their votes for Tinubu.
According to a tweet by the Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, the Governors, among other delegates, who signed Tinubu’s forms are:
Governor Gboyega Oyetola – Osun State
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu – Lagos State
Governor Bello Matawalle – Zamfara State
Governor Babagana Zulum – Borno State
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje – Kano State
Governor Aminu Masari – Katsina State
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu – Ondo State
Governor Atiku Bagudu – Kebbi State
Governor Abdullahi Sule – Nasarawa State
Governor Inuwa Yahaya – Gombe State
Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello – Niger State
Governor Muhammad Baduru – Jigawa State
Incidentally, one of the Governors who signed the form for Tinubu, Baduru of Jigawa State, is also a Presidential aspirant.
However, a few days ago, an unconfirmed story had made the rounds that 14 Governors Signed the Nomination form for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
