Former governor of Lagos state and a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, continued his consultations Thursday by paying a visit to former Military President, Ibrahim Babangida.
Babangida, one of the five retired Generals, who wield much influence over the Nigerian Political stratosphere, has always been regarded by political office seekers at the National level as a must-go-to.
Dele Momudu, also a Presidential Aspirant, recently described the five retired Generals as the owners of Nigeria.
Tinubu was ushered into the former Military President’s house by about 2pm. Both men went into a closed door meeting, thereafter.
The agenda for the meeting is believed to be connected to Tinubu’s recently declared Presidential ambition.
He had first consulted President Buhari, who was allegedly non-committal.
Only recently, Babangida all but endorsed Vice President Osinbajo, calling him the best for the job. Although Osinbajo has not publicly declared interest, campaign groups have arisen on his behalf, and he has been traveling widely across Northern states in recent times.
He was conveniently absent from Aso Rock the day Tinubu visited.
