Asari Dokubo, the leader of Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force, Asari Dokubo, has described the Presidential ambition of Peter Obi as a scam. The former militant leader said the former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP is lying to Nigerians.
Obi has been gaining momentum in his 2023 presidential bid as a result of his flowery comments on national issues. Many consider him as a better alternative to other presidential candidates of the ruling APC and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The former governor appears to have gained more support mostly among the youths who have taken over the social media to campaign for him
But Dokubo said on his verified Facebook page that the LP presidential candidate does not stand any chance against two front line candidate of the PDP Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu of the ruling APC. Obi “is going nowhere” in his presidential ambition, the repentant militant said.
According to him, “There is a scammer in town. Peter Obi is a scamming people with lies and people are believing him. This is nauseating. Peter Obi was a governor of Anambra state for eight years.
“Anambra State is one of the advantageous states in Nigeria because of the people. They have Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi. These are the biggest goldmines in Nigeria after Lagos, Port Harcourt and Aba.
“They said he saved seventy-something billion. What is seventy-something billion? The money that Wike toys with in Rivers.
“How would you compare Obi with Tinubu or Atiku? What is his antecedent? Lies. You are showing documents. Who showed that you rejected the lands? All these small small [sic] scams, who dem wan do naw [sic]?”
Recall that Dokubo who once said Nigeria will collapsed if former President Goodluck Jonathan did not return to office in 2015, recently praised Tinubu of the APC to high heavens, saying the former Governor of Lagos state is the most qualified among the presifential candidates to take over from Buhari next year.
His comment on Obi is, therefore considered by many as another way of demarketing the LP candidate in order to advance the course of Tinubu who Dokubo had abused in the past.
