Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on media, disclosed this on Thursday.
The former presidential aide who recently lost election to the House of Reps, said Obi has become an item in many states across the North.
To start with, Ahmad said the former Anambra state governor could secure as much as 85 percent votes in Kaduna and Katsina, two key strongholds of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The two states are among the states that delivered block votes for President Buhari to emerge president in 2015 and 2019.
The Obi phenomenon, Ahmad said could change everything and work against Bola Tinubu, the torch bearer of the ruling party in the 2023 presidential election, he said.
Recall that Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state had penultimate week, said Obi could create an upset for the two major political parties in next year’s election. Obaseki is a member of the PDP.
Ahmad said in a tweet that the ex governor has become a national movement .
Obi’s name has metamor a movement in Kano and Katsina States.
“Let me confess, the name Peter Obi alone is a movement to beat, I was in Kano over the weekend and to my surprise everywhere is PO, nobody is talking about other candidates anymore and a friend told me that it’s a similar story in Katsina. LP is getting 75% – 80% in those States,” he tweeted.
A presidential candidate only requires to secures 25 per cent of votes cast in two third of the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory, FCT to emerge president.
Obi had defected from PDP to Labour Party to actualise his presidential ambition.
