The Nigeria Super Sand Eagles have been booted out of the ongoing 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay after losing their second group match to Asian nation, Oman.
The Super Sand Eagles failed to defeat the Omans in a must win match to brighten its chances of progressing in the championship. It lost 6-5 to the more determined Oman beach soccer team.
Nigeria struggled throughout the encounter, coming back twice, but the superior fireworks of the Oman striking force was too strong for the Nigerians to suppress.
With this loss, Nigeria is out of the competition with their last group match against defending world champion, Brazil, just a mere formality.
In the other group match, Brazil defeated Portugal 9-7 to advance to the knockout phase of the competition with a game to spare. Portugal needs to beat Oman to also advance.
