17 Killed In Dawn Operation Targeting Terrorists Supply Network In Borno

The Nigerian Army on Sunday December 21, 2025, announced the neutralization of no fewer than 17 terrorist elements during what it described as “a well coordinated long-range ambush and operation.

The operation which was launched by troops of the Operation Hadin Kai OPHK, in the early hours of Sunday  in concert with local vigilante personnel also resulted in the interception and subsequent disruption of a terrorist supply chain.

A statement from Lt Col. Sani Uba ,the spokesperson for the Joint Task Force , informed that the intelligence-driven operation led to the decimation of many terrorists and a successful disruption of insurgents logistics supply network.

“Acting on credible intelligence from own sources regarding the movement of logistics supplies by suspected JAS/ISWAP elements, troops of OPHK and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force CJTF, supported by local hunters, deployed to a designated interception point between Sojiri and Kayamla villages on the night of December 20, 2025.

“At approximately 2:24 am on 21 December, suspected terrorists mounted on bicycles arrived at the location conveying logistics materials, confirming earlier intelligence reports.

The troops positioned in concealed, and coordinated formations engaged the terrorists decisively”, the Army stated.

Col Uba revealed that during firefights, about 17 suspected insurgents were killed, while others fled with gun shot injuries.

According to the Service’s spokesperson, several items including bicycles assorted food stuffs, drugs and medical supplies, detergents, clothing materials, torch lights, assorted weapons of different calibres and ammunition, as well as  other essential logistics items were said to have been recovered from the terrorists.

The statement reaffirmed the determination and commitment of troops towards the continued degrading of insurgents networks ,and disruption of their supply chains .
