Over 10 Persons were confirmed dead in a ghastly motor accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway along Soka, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The crash which happened around 7:50 a.m. involved three Nissan Micra Taxi Cabs and three Trailers, all reportedly heading from the Iwo Road axis of the expressway.
According to eyewitness account, “The impact of the collision was severe, leaving several bodies mutilated and trapped in the wreckage.
The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Security Operatives and other emergency responders were at the scene working to recover the remains of the victims and restore traffic flow.
Traffic in the area was heavily disrupted as authorities cordoned off part of the road to manage the aftermath.
Eyewitnesses said that 10 bodies were evacuated from the scene and taken to the mortuary, while injured persons were taken to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.
The Police and NEMA are yet to issue a statement on the tragic incident.
